E-filing will ensure timely and appropriate dispensation of justice.
The Chief Judge of Abuja, Lawal Gumi, on Wednesday tasked judges and their registrars to ensure strict compliance with the recently introduced e-filling of cases.
Mr. Gumi said this in Abuja at a stakeholder’s conference on e-filling compliance, which was organized for Abuja judges and registrars.
The chief judge, who was represented by Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi, said the electronic filing (e-filing) of cases is timely and appropriate for speedy dispensation of justice.
He said the process will assist judges, court registrars, counsel and litigants to file and access cases from anywhere.
The Director of “Yes We Can,” a consultancy firm that organised the conference, Adebayo Hassan, said that the idea behind the e-filling process was to provide a platform for Abuja judges to manage and track cases as fast as possible.
Mr. Hassan said that the firm had provided a platform in the e-filling process, which contains the process unit portal, counsel/litigants’ portal and the chief judge portal.
He added that a litigant could make payment via the e-filling method.
