Over 88 per cent of the petrol used by Nigerians between October 2015 and September 2016 was provided by the state oil firm, NNPC.
The corporation said it supplied filling stations across Nigeria 10.4 billion litres of petrol in that 12 months period.
The NNPC said this in its September report which gave a breakdown of its activities in the oil and gas sector from October 2015 to September 2016 on Tuesday in Abuja.
“Total PMS supplied by NNPC from October 2015 to September 2016 is 10.4 billion litres out of 11.8 billion litres of the products sold,’’ the report said.
According to the report, 243 million barrels of crude oil is lifted by NNPC on behalf of the Federal Government out of a total of 720 million barrels fiscalised.
The reports added that on gas to power, an average generation of 2,507 megawatts was generated from 208 billion cubic feet of gas in the last 12 months.
The report also said that a total of N827 billion was paid to the Federation Account Allocation Committee by NNPC in the last 12 months.
