After a whirlwind romance that lasted two years, upcoming Nollywood actress Mary Remmy and Iroko TV boss, Jason Njoku, have tied the knot.
The couple hosted friends and colleagues at a lavish reception held on Saturday, at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac, Lagos. The event had a handful of stars like Mercy Johnson, Emem Aigbe, Kefee and Uche Jombo in attendance.
The ceremony was anchored by actor, Charles Inojie while Kefee performed her song You are Beautiful for the couple.
The couple succeeded in keeping their romance far away from the prying eyes of the public until, Remmy broke the news of her engagement on Twitter in July.
Her tweet read, “Hi guys hope everyone is doing good? I’m engaged to Jason Njoku. Great weekend, God bless us.”
When Remmy who is best known for her role in Blackberry Babes was made an ambassador of iRoko TV in 2011, many questioned the rationale behind the move.
Some believed then that it was a wrong move, considering the fact that she was not a popular face. The criticisms notwithstanding, she was officially made an ambassador alongside Mercy Johnson, Mr Ibu, Uche Ogbodo, Uche Jombo, Eniola Badmus, Patience Ozokwor, John Dumelo and Tonto Dikeh
Remmy, who lost her younger sisters to the dreaded bomb blasts alleged to have been carried out by the dreaded Boko Haram militant group in Yobe State in 2011.
