Goldie’s burial and absence of Prezzo

Published:

Many of the pollsters wanted Prezzo to attend Goldie’s burial.

One person that was conspicuously absent at the solemn burial ceremony of Goldie, flamboyant singer and ex-Big Brother Africa housemate, on Monday is Prezzo.

Prezzo, Goldie’s assumed boyfriend and fellow BBA housemate, in a manner that showed he was listening to Goldie’s husband, Andrew Harvey, and a host of other Nigerians, stayed away from the burial.

Mr. Harvey, who showed up after Goldie’s death, posting pictures of his marriage and times with Goldie, had warned Prezzo, to leave his family alone.

“Leave our family alone,” Mr. Harvey said in one of his Facebook posts.

In a poll on the PREMIUM TIMES website, we asked readers if Prezzo should still attend Goldie’s funeral in spite of her husband, Andrew’s demand.

29 per cent of the respondents said “Yes he should, to honour her” while 22 per cent said “No he shouldn’t. He should let her husband and family do their thing.”

28 per cent of the voters do not know or care who Goldie is, while nine per cent of the voters think that Prezzo should seek permission from Goldie’s husband to attend the event.

Goldie’s funeral was attended by family, friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry.

Her husband, Andrew Harvey; and best friend, Derenle Edun, were most prominent at the event, with Denrele breaking down in tears.

The funeral symbolically marked the end of the drama that emanated after the death of Goldie.

She had been, before her demise, a sweetheart to players of the entertainment industry.

Her affair with Prezzo had been a tempestuous one and had been one of the major highlights of the 2012 season of the pan-continental reality series.

Even after the show there were rumours of an engagement and plans for a summer wedding for the star-crossed lovers. That was until the untimely death of Goldie and the subsequent emergence of a man who turned out to be her husband.
